Das Rechenschlagwerk ist ein Schlagwerkmechanismus, bei dem mit Hilfe eines Rechens, der auf die Stundenstaffel fällt, und eines Schöpfers die Anzahl der auszuführenden Schläge direkt vom Geh- bzw. Zeigerwerk abgetastet wird.

Eine Voraussetzung zum Beispiel ist, dass die Uhr exklusiv nur im Schwarzwald hergestellt wurde. Aber der Herkunftsnachweis allein genügt nicht, um das Zertifikat zu erlangen. Die Uhr muss auch noch ausschließlich mechanisch arbeiten und auch die Einzelteile müssen im Schwarzwald hergestellt worden sein. Es gibt keine Möglichkeit das begehrte Zertifikat für eine Quarzuhr, oder eine solarbetriebene Uhr, zu erhalten. ''Unsere Kunden wollen eine mechanische Uhr. This is the most expensive cuckoo clock I have ever bought. Yet I have NO regrets! NONE! It is beautiful and the sound of the cuckoo as well as the songs is full, deep and beautiful. I would chose this cluck every time!
