That's what clock porter "Johann" thinks about...
Mini Black Forest Clocks are very popular. They are completely made by hand. These Black Forest Clocks are available with or without a cuckoo's sound
Black Forest tradition: from cuckoo clocks to miniature clocks
Black Forest cuckoo clocks look back on a long tradition and embody a longing for a cosy world. The clocks are characterised by skilful carving in combination with a high-quality clockwork. Typically, the wall clocks from the Black Forest come with a cuckoo that announces the full hour. The ever-shrinking tools and materials have made it possible for traditional clocks with cuckoos to become smaller and smaller over the centuries. So that today the cuckoo clock is available as a miniature version.
Clockmaking in a sophisticated form
A miniature cuckoo clock is made of solid wood and represents true craftsmanship. The miniature clocks from the Black Forest also feature numerous details. The clocks are shaped like a small house with a sloping roof. Animals, trees and effective decorative elements adorn the traditional timepieces. The pendulum of the miniature clocks also attracts everyone's attention - and not just because of its constant pendulum movement. The pendulum of the miniature cuckoo clocks is itself a small work of art.
The cuckoo as a symbol of the miniature cuckoo clock
Cuckoo, cuckoo - this is the typical cuckoo call of the Black Forest cuckoo clocks, which effectively marks the start of a new hour. And you don't have to do without this visual signal with the miniature clocks either. Of course, the call can be switched off if required. Many modern miniature cuckoo clocks also offer the option of playing melodies.
